About Caravela Beach Resort, Goa

Nestled on India’s western coastline, Goa, a former Portuguese colony, is renowned for its pristine beaches and pleasant climate. Goa, known as the "Perola Do Orienta" or Pearl of the Orient by the Portuguese conquistadors, remains a gem for all who visit.

As you approach this architectural marvel on the Arabian Sea, you'll notice a stunning vaulted dome with four grand gothic arches crowning the hotel's atrium. This impressive sight welcomes guests, primarily from Germany, England, France, Italy, Switzerland, and India, through a colonnade porch leading to the expansive lobby via an open archway.

The grandeur continues within, where the sounds of cascading waterfalls and vibrant patterns of light streaming through colored glass in the arched skylights create a dramatic ambiance in the grand two-story atrium.

Spanning 23 acres, the resort is designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings. No building within the complex stands taller than any of the 300 trees on the property. The Founders placed great importance on environmental concerns, ensuring the resort's eco-friendly development.

Goa’s rich culture heavily influenced the resort's design. The flying buttress, a common element in local Goan churches, features prominently in the hotel’s public spaces. Pointed arches, columns, and traditional Goan architectural elements are evident throughout. The beams supporting the atrium roof mimic those in traditional Goan homes. The interiors showcase ceramic mosaic flooring, Mario Miranda's artworks, intricate wood and stone carvings, and motifs of birds and flowers, reflecting local artistry.

Most of our 201 guest rooms and villas offer sea views and surround a stunning swimming complex. Two wings extend from the lobby and central atrium, stepping down towards the sea in three tiers. A third wing touches the golf course with a direct view of the ocean. Truly, this Pearl of the Orient shines brightly, offering a memorable experience to all who visit.
